HI, I just bought a salvaged 1992 500SL which is a half cut from Japan. The hard top is missing. The roll over bar is half erected. I'm trying to open the cover to the soft top and cannot seems to find a solution. I remember from my 500SL there are 2 red level after pooping open the 2 plastic cover at the booth. I tried these 2 levels and they does not move down. Both are now in the up position. And Suggestion? Cheers- Heung

 

Seems like you need to take your car to garage ask them to mend it, im sure they will know what the problem is maybe a backstreet one because of its age should be a 2 min job. We have hardly any soft tops here in the UK as weather is an issue. I just viewed your car in red, quite classy
