Grille Assembly
I hit a duck and damaged my grille assembly. It has 6 horizontal slats with a silver Benz emblem in the center. It looks like I can change it myself.
I'm told that the OEM replacement grille does not come with the plastic emblem holder and silver emblem. I was told that I would have to buy one from a dealer and screw it into the assembly. For my original grill, the emblem assembly is fitted into the slats and actually supports them in the center.
The non-OEM replacement apparently has no provision for a Benz symbol. I kind of like the straight slat look, I'm not sure of the quality of the part.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried to buy a replacement grille and had a problem with OEM or non-OEM parts.
