I am ready to repair or replace the map pocket hinge. It has ripped off the door panel. The pastic fits together, however a prior repair, did not hold. It looks like a super glue only on the plastic fragments. Has anyone already tried a rivet system or body mastic that manufactures use for door hinges? Thanks for any insight

With no answers coming forward, I plunged headlong anyway! ( its only time and money!) Actually very little of either. I used no mastic. I placed "T" nuts on the panel inside where the broken plastic extensions went to the leather side. 3/4 inch pan head bolts show inside the map pocket but hold the plastic hinge to the metal support bar. very stable, little cutting or drilling. The past rattles are gone, and the locking and opening are back to just annoying!
