I like both looks, but the latest offering appeals to me more.

This question is like asking opinions about wheels, lots of personal opinions out there.

I picked my SL up this past summer, but I waited for a long time to find the one I have. SP1 & 2 and Pano.. the AMG package was a must, the Pano was a windfall as it was ordered for the car when it was new. I also lean towards a newer wheel look, after considering old school 3 piece OZ for a while, I finally went with SL55 wheels, again just a personal choice. The picture on the left shows the car as it was built, with the Mono I AMG wheels. Picture on the right shows the SL55 wheels, which I think really freshen the look and go with the AMG package much better.

1994 AMG E60 (W124); 1997 SL600; & few others that I cannot fit in here
Not a guru myself, but here is my two cents. I have had both types. IMO, the former is more "wild", kind of for the younger age group. It exudes strength and power. Meanwhile, the newer look emanates a more delicate, soft and elegant appearance,...maybe for the older group ? Hope this makes somekind of sense. w/ smiles Jimmy
