Suggested price

I have a 1996 SL600. 60K miles, perfect condition, new monitors. Need to sell. Does anyone have an idea of a price for it?

You need to list your location, color, option list, history, etc. There are many factors that determine the price of the car.

Ask yourself this question: would you buy from your own "ads"?

And what is "new monitors"?

I would probaby say $9K. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in N. California. "New Monitors", these cars had faulty monitors, so they didn't do the self-testing and could not pass smog. I replaced them, so now no problem. Car is black on black, soft top is great condition, new tires, totally original, just had 60K mile service done.
$9,000 seems really low to me.

PHH - You're not helping yourself. For example, do you live on the Bay Area, or in Eureka? Stockton or Redding? Makes a huge difference. Second, what specifically are "new monitors"? The word 'monitor' can mean any of a dozen items. Third, and again, you are asking a bunch of R129 owners what they think your car is worth, sight unseen. Your idea of 'perfect' is yours; not ours. I agree with a previous post, based upon what little objective information you've provided, in two posts BTW, I'd give $9K for it. Your asking us to judge a vehicle without even seeing it. Think about that for a minute. What do you think my white 2005 S55 in good condition with new monitors is worth? Oh, and the tires are good. Would you pay me what I think the car is worth? No, because you haven't seen it; you haven't driven it, etc. If you want a good ball park value, go to Kelly Blue Book, or like I said in a different post, try CarMax to at least get the bottom end price. You won't find it here; at least not from serious SL600 drivers. If you are simply trying to justify some price that you already have in mind, try creating another account and answer your own query. Sheesh.
Cheers,
Jeff

I would ask $15,000 for it. Be very exhaustive in your and play up the reliability, comfort and speed, as well as the exclusiveness, especially if you are in the Bay area. You can always come down on a price, but it is hard to jack it up! Also, if you set the price too low, people will think it has "issues" and you are trying to unload a lemon.
