Help me please, SL won't start!!
Hello,
I have a 1990 R129 500SL. Last week I was driving along the road, and as I crossed over a bumpy junction the car died. The ignition lights came on and the engine stalled. I pulled over, but the car would not start, it turned over fast enough and I have a full tank of petrol. It was as if a wire has come off, or something has come unplugged. I called the RAC, and they said there is no spark coming from the coils.
Some ideas include: possible cam censor, crank censor, but I don't want to buy these items if I don't need them.
Is there a fuel cut out switch? Would this stop the coils getting power?
Please, anyone else had this? Any ideas how to get the car working again?
Thanks in advance, Matt.

So, what was the solution? When I had a sudden stop event the battery disconnect and reconnect was the solution. Could some electronic disconnect have been activated by the police?
