91 mercedes 300sl hood will not open
Hello,
I am a new member to this forum,I have searched this site for repair answers in the past but my new problem seems to be unique so I have to ask for help.
I was changing my headlight switch and the hood release cable seems to have disengage at the latch and I cannot get the hood to open.

I have never had the cable break, so I would look for the wire end from the interior end of the cable. Good luck, I'm sure the space is tight and dark!

the best thing to do would probably try to get a diagram of the front engine compartment so you can see where the wire is built into the car exactly and then try to look for it from underneath the car. if you know where to look it will make your life a lot easier. by looking at the diagram you could also probably find out where the latch is and try to release it by hand.
