'99 SL500 windshield washer pump??

Pressed the washer button this morning and nothing happened except the wiper cycled as normal when pressing the washer switch. When I metered the plug at the pump pin to pin I get 4.96v whether the washer switch is pressed or not. One pin to ground=4.96v, other pin to ground=0.07v. . I would guess the pump is a 12v pump, so this makes no sense to me. On the hot pin, I expected 0v with the switch not pressed and 12v with the washer switch depressed.

Any thoughts on where to look now?

Thanks,
Jimmy

Jimmy Dummy-Was metering the level sensor.OOPS!

Checked the parts manual. Might do better if I trouble shoot the pump rather than the level sensor. Oh well, I know what the voltage on the sensor is supposed to be.

I started troubleshooting my washer circuit when the washer didn't work, only to find that I hadn't noticed the wiper/washer switch needed to be pushed past a second detent for the washer to work.
