1992 Mercedes 500SL
Question 4 year theory?

my car has an electrical problem with the tail light, havent diagnosed it but when talking to a random mechanic, his opinion was mercedes is known to have electrical problems after they reach their 4 year mark. could this be true?

That mechanic sounds like a know-it-all hack. Dime a dozen. Your car is a 92, and it doesn't sound like it sprung all sorts of electrical problems starting way back in 96.

The electrical problems in your age of a car is not a four year cycle! Age can be the issue, because of vibration, connector plastic breakage and fuse surface oxidation.
I have changed the fuses to CU ceramic, because of hard to see contact problems. the cost is minor, but not a product that is at any auto parts store. MBCluster ?? was a dealer that sold them in full sets
