SL's Forever

Just bought 1998 SL500 absolutely love car, have wanted one since they came out. Never had the money and still don't, hope to bring back to glory by the used part route. Sorry dragging, when I turn headlights on, washer pump activates on the passenger side and stays on as long as switch is on.Any ideas or similar situation?

Welcome

the wiper for the headlamp was designed to operate when the light is on and the regular wipers are on. My guess is that an electrical connection is on even though it is not! Several R129 I have owned had the washer spray work until the system was dry. That source of the problem was a "short" in the wiring around the washer fluid tank. That electrical short repair also corrected the co-ordination of the wiper on the headlamp and windscreen.
