Storing a R129.

I need to store my SL (97) for about a year. Any suggestions on what not to do?

If someone can start the engine and let run to get the engine warm and fully functioning on a weekly basis then I clean, new oil, drain windscreen fluid, limit fuel and cover. The battery tender ( Ctek ) is part of any prolonged non use, as is vermin protection. Everything has a time factor and rust never sleeps! When I have the victory of a "barn find" ( multiply year storage ) I clean everything as inspected and move the vehicle by wheel dollie. Fluids are all flushed and or drained, then replaced and hoses, junctions checked for leaks. Brakes and hydraulics are inspected and hand turning the engine after a light oil is added via the spark plugs. I am never in a hurry to add battery to the system until the visible have been sorted out.
I also have several people ( gear heads ) that are willing to exercise the rolling stock!

Thanks,
I don't think I'll be up to starting it for a while, much less weekly. It was suggested to me That I should not UN-hook the Bat.( why is that?) I am also conserned about flat spots on the tires. Other than that she is up to snuff.

A low current battery can present mis diagnosised problems and diagnostic codes that a dealership may need to clear, so I keep the battery to full volts/amps but the Ctec does so without cooking the battery nor over powering the computers in the car. My 94 has a few issues with battery disconnect, but your 97 will have window synch, RST movement, suspension (ADS) and radio codes just to name a few. All can be reset, so if the battery tender is not possible, then of course the battery can be removed.
The flat spots are a problem. one car ( 810 Cord ) that sits and not rolls regularly is on jacks that keep the tires lightly touching the floor tile.
