fuel injectors not delivering fuel
My 1996 SL500 Mercedes won't start after I parked it for 4-days when I had my business trip errands. When I got home and tried to start it, it on't start. I checked the it has spark in the spark plugs because when I prime it with starting fluid it runs for few seconds and stops. I don't know what or where start to fixed the problem but, I know that the injectors is not opening to deliver fuel.

Since I don't know the build of your vehicle, I will assume you are in Kansas!
Fuel pump, it makes a slight sound from the right side trunk area
Then if nothing, check fuses, two areas, trunk near the gas filler pipe, but on the trunk forward wall. It has a plastic cover that matches the fabric in the trunk.
The main fuse panel is under the hood of the engine compartment, on the steering wheel side if your vehicle was built ti the USA. The hood can be extended to full verticle, which makes the removal of the black plastic cover easy at the firewall and lets an old person like myself to directly visualize the fuses.
Old fuses can be good and yet have metal etching and incomplete contact between the Al and Cu surfaces that don't support the correct current to be transmitted, so many of us have obtained copper clad fuses to eliminate that problem in car problem diagnosis.
Good luck on the restart and welcome to Kansas!

Thank You! I appreciate your help. I tried checking the fuel pump if it's running when I switch the ignition on and starting it, I could hear the pump running and checked the fuel manifolf for fuel pressure and it does have over forty psi in it. As I said the engine only runs when I sprayed starting fluid in it.

security proplem?
Could it be a security issue? The signal from the chip in the key fob not being picked up and the car is shutting down the fuel injection. That was the problem with my 1997 SL600.
