Larax,
Hmmm... Dunno the answer. However I do know that the instrument cluster temperature gauge on the R129 cannot be changed like a gauge on a W124. Some models like the W124 have the thermometer 'controller' built into the display mechanism and they use the same front bumper mounted sender unit. I'm in Australia and i found a Fahrenheit module in USA and swapped it in about 15 minutes.
However in the R129 I am told the temperature display is controlled by a circuit on the instrument controller board and therefore you would need an entire European (or Canadian?) instrument cluster.
You can email James info@mbcluster.com as he is about the most knowledgable person i've come across and certainly have a solution for you.
Regards-mog

Thanks Bogwan. I have changed it in the ac unit with star diagnose but in the instrumentcluster it just shows many strange an cryptical things. It seems like i have to change the instrumentcluster to an european one...

Larax,
I'm an American living in Australia. My 500SL is a British Delivery with an MPH Speedo but a degrees C ambient temperature LED and it makes me crazy!
In my 300E Australian Delivery that shipped with degrees C LED, I changed the module to degrees F...
A scrambled display? Hmmm! Perhaps take a photo and email it to the guy i recommended. He is in Canada and can also supply replacement instrument clusters / parts.
Hope this helps-mog
