SL/R129: Squeaking sound

Squeaking sound
My R129 SL500 (1995) has been making squeezing metallic sounds coming from the front everytime I drive over uneven roads. I've told my mechanic about it but he's hopeless to the point that he cannot pinpoint the cause. The absorbers are relatively new and I had the bushings checked and greased recently but the noise still persists and it's really annoying me. A friend of mine said it could be due to the "CV Joint" or constant velocity joint but I the parts supplier I checked with says they don't sell individual CV Joints and I'll have to buy the entire "propeller shaft". I have no idea what he was referring to.
Does anyone have similar squeaking sounds from the front?

Try lubing the hood's locking latches with a silicon based spray. It seems a bit odd, it was to me anyway, but it worked. I think the car makes this sound as the body twists. Good luck. Oh yeah, there are three spots you need to lube and be sure to lube the springs.

hood latches are probably the problem. Two front end shops could not find the source of my squeaking sound. I leaned on the hood while checking tire pressure and there was my squeak.

Thanks guys, the car is with the mechanic right now and he reckons, weirdly, that the noise is due to the front anti roll bar. When the bar was removed the noise didn't present itself during a test drive but it reappeared when the bar was refitted. I am waiting to see the result but it is extremely weird that a non moving part like an anti roll bar could cause such squeaking sound when the car goes over rough roads!

Thanks, the car is still with the mechanic and I called him today to check the progress, he said replacing with a new anti roll bar has stopped the noise. I'll see for myself when I pick up the car!
