Referring to the diagram below (and assuming you have a 2002 R129):
- pull back the trunk trim to access the antenna unit, it helps to remove the left tail light's inner panel;
- remove screw #77 that fastens the ground strap;
- remove the electrical connector, #82;
- remove screw #78, this is the only faster holding the antenna in place;
- pull the antenna unit down and out of the fender grommet, remove the unit--this can require some wiggling and maneuvering;
- disconnect the RF cable (#81), or cables--if your car has the optional cell phone or other options there may be an amplifier box connected to the antenna mast housing, with multiple RF cable connections;

Is your mast not moving? Is there an electric motor sound? did someone bend the mast? All of those issues and be repaired with part not replacement of the entire system.
