SL/R129: can not get into my boot

has the lock system on the dash above the center console been unlocked?
If memory serves the valet lock system lets a person in the car but keeps the glove box, door pockets, back floor panels, gas and maybe trunk from unlocking.
The ignition key is inserted into the interior lock near the air vent and the barrel is rotated.
Not sure that is your issue, but good luck with your project.

thks for the reply, no i have not touched any locks by console ,i have been told that there is a seperate boot key, which i do not have. is there any way to get into boot without having to replace lock barrel. mercedes want to charge me 8oo pounds to make new lock to match my key.

Had that problem. Suggested remedies included breaking in through rere light or cutting open boot lid. A very smart mechanic drilled a tiny hole through the rubber disc surrounding the key hole, inserted a wire and flicked open the lock. after many months of frustration I was delighted. A good oil up and all in order since.
