Wet winter driving
We put the panorama roof on last weekend. Gave up on nice days for a few months.
With my wife as my helper, I was glad to put it in place without scratching paint. It is really a three man job!
Took the SL 500 to work in the rain at 4 degrees celcius the other day.
Still seeking to enjoy the power and agility ... I found myself taking ramps a little too fast ... ESP interveening.
I was in a hurry so passing people like a mad man ... on the slow lane side. Everyone seems to think they own the fast lane!
When going 40% faster than the norm ... one must watch for irratic lane changes from cars in adjacent lanes in front! MB brakes.
Can't wait till summer time for the return of sunny days and dry pavement!

Chris,
One modification which would be worth doing is to have a hard top hoist. Gets the hard top out of the way and it's a one person job to remove and replace.
I'd attach a picture of mine, but it looks like this is no longer allowed. Probably too much server space being consumed.

I live in Guildford area, work in Aldergrove, shop for produce in Kitsellano on one day each weekend. Enough time on Hwy 1 to hve a bit of fun with lane changes, acceleration & speed.
Just a few blocks from where I live in Surrey there is a five sided closed connection of 100 Ave, 148 Street, 96 Ave, Fraser Hwy, 137(?) Street which all bound "Green Tibers Park" in the center. Other than lights at each of the five corners and T inersections connecting occasionally ... it is a place with good visibility, a nice little circuit that I go arround and arround on sometimes to have a bit of fun.
Other than driving a couple of times to Whistler ... have not really sought out twisy roads to take shorter runs on. I hear that the road up to Mt. Seymour is fun. Have not tried it.
Have had people recommend "Auto cross events". There does seem to be web information for local Vacouver Auto cross ... however, have not looked into it yet.

Thanks for the thought. That would be a good thing to have.
However, we live in a high rise condo. Just enough room (with other necesities such as luggage) in the storeage cubicle provided to store the roof in a vertical position on the castered holder.
The parking is in an undeground garage. Good for securuty, but also no place to store a hoist.
