SL/R129: Need Help 500SL Top

Need Help 500SL Top
I have a 99 SL I recently changed my soft top Frame and canvas , was a simple enough , my top worked fine I just wanted to change the color and this was the least expensive way.. I connected all hydraulics and electrical connections , my issue is that when I try and put the top it only goes about 6inches and stops, seems like the pumps just shuts off. Any idea what I might have missed ?

Any chance one of the limit switches is not actuating correctly? Check the left hand bow extension hydraulic cylinder. There is a micro switch on the cylinder. It can easily be damage when working on the top. It should be normally CLOSED when the cylinder is extended and OPEN when it is retracted.
Also check to be sure you have enough fluid in the reservoir you can find it under the spare tyre cover in the trunk. You will need to remove 3 10mm plastic nuts to get to it. The fluid should be between the min and max line on the plastic tank (on level ground).
