2001SL F1 vs. 2002 Silver Arrow
been noticing quite a few SL500's on Ebay(just to ck pricing mainly) and noticed the 2001 F1(only 20 made that yr). Basically it's got a few extra trims vs. the reg. 2001(i think ALL of them were SPORT models std in 2001). Anyway, now i'm thinking those 2002 Silver Arrows(the last 100 special editions) which had $87k msrp now selling for around $50 to $55k about 18 months later...pretty neat, almost too nice to drive around daily. these cars are all very low mileage (< 12k mi.) and nr new. The other option is to pick up a 1998 or 1999 SL500 for around $35k b/c it's basically the same mechanicallly as the 2002. I figure anything in between wasn't worth the $...if $45k for yr 2000, then just pay a little more and get special edition. any thoughts?

It seems that you are familiar with significant changes in the R129 SL.
1999 being the most recent engene that even the R230 has now.
