SL/R129: Wheel fitment issues HELP!

1999 SL500, 2015 GLBluetech, 2014 CLS550
Wheel fitment issues HELP!
I have a 1999 SL500 and recently bought a set of used AMG wheels to replace the AMG wheels which the chrome was flaking. When we put them on everything went fine but as soon as we started to back up the new wheel s hit the calipers. Everything looks the same. We did use new lug bolts that had been chromed and they were the 39mm opposed to the old extended bolts. Any ideas as to why the new wheels are hitting the calipers?

Did you check the offset before buying the wheels? You can do that here:

You may have to install spacers.
