R129 Door Rust
I have a beautiful 1993 74000 mile Florida White 600SL. I just started using Wurth rubber treatment to spray the door weatherstripping and as I went around, I found rust on both doors emanating from the rubber outwards. Is this worth fixing- KBB says my car is only worth $6000???- I love the car and it has as much horsepower as my Testarossa. Any ideas?

Mercedes 500SL 1993 ex Japan
Hi I found exactly the same issue on my 500SL. The job wasn't too expensive given the area isn't too cosmetic. It cost probably 10% of the cars value but then nearly anything major to fix on an older R129 will be strictly uneconomic. I did it because I want the car right and rust is upsetting, as are oil leaks or really anything wrong....
