91 500SL charging problem
Interesting thing here everyone and hoping that some of you smart people can help me out. I have a 91 500SL that is having issues charging the battery. That is to say that the problem is intermittent and the only reason i know it is happening is because the seatbelt light comes on when the battery is not being charged. How I found out was returning from a trip out of town where all of the dash lights came on when I put a load on the system (lights, AC etc) and once the battery was discharged to a certain point the car didn't want to keep running. This happened everytime the seatbelt light illuminated, but once the seatbelt light went out again the car acted normal. This happened several times per minute so it was a ripple effect. Is this a voltage regulator issue? Has anyone seen this before?
In case anyone is wondering, just replaced the battery so no issue there.
