Rescued from scrap

In my search for winter project, I found 1998 SL500.
The car interior was trashed by young (4th) owner and transmission was in hard limp, but I maintained 5 of those transmissions on family cars, so this did not scare me.
Bought the car for about 1% of its original price. Anybody has a site that would list original pricing and high-tech specifications btw?
So after driving it home 20 miles on 2nd gear, the car turn out to be nicer than expected. Both tops are in good condition, engine misfire seems to be plugs and oil in the belly pan looks like leaky ATF hose at the radiator.
Will be checking this section more often once I get new pilot bushing and the codes reset.
The car sure make impression with no tops.
Those are seller pictures, but I add my own once I get the project restored.

First question.
What spark plugs are recommended for 119 engine? I found 2 spare ignition coils in the trunk and looks like those on the engine come at different time.
Are the coils common failure on those engines?

Spark plugs are non-resistor plugs. Bosch F8DC4

so 1% is $ 1,200???
Looks like a good project
Engine smooths out with new plugs and cables?
Belly pans collect so much, month after month I try not to judge until the super clean belly pan is observed several times. I have used butcher paper with a grid to track the fluid issues
we await photos!

My comment in the other world, Please don't trash any parts!
We used old parts after the dealer parts proved faulty. rebuilt, reinstalled, all is full function!

1994 AMG E60 (W124); 1997 SL600; & few others that I cannot fit in here
That SL looks quite fine, just neglects and with proper hands, should turn out to be a good buy. Interesting side skirts. not sure what to make of it.

Looking forward to the progress.
