SL/R129: ash tray door will not stay closed

ash tray door will not stay closed
The ash try door on the central counsel will not stay closed. I cannot find where the latch is to see what is broken. Does anyone know where the latch is or how to tell why might it not close?
Also, how do you change the ashtray light?

remove center console, if you still have the cassette holder. While you are in there you will have access to the felt lined track that the channels the door panels for the ash tray and cassette holder.
Many in the forum have replaced the music cartridge holder for a drink holder. The light bulb mount has a black plastic sleeve that can be moved to a new position if you want.
Since I have the space converted the light bulb is now serving the drink holder.
