Question INSTALLATION HELP! v Radio

Hey guys - I did a search and couldn't find anything, so I'm creating this thread...

Basically, I just got a Continental TR7412UB-OR and just tried to install it. I've installed many car stereos so many times, but for some reason I can't seem to slide in the unit all the way in; it just stops halfway and I don't want to force it in.

I checked the wires behind, nothing holding it up.
I checked the tabs on the bracket, to make sure nothing was protruding or anything, nothing.
I thought I installed the bracket upside down - you can't do that.

Why isn't the stereo going in? Do I need to use the keys to put it in (I've never had to before)...

ALSO - about switching the terminals in the connector so that the stereo turns on with the ignition (wires A4 and A7 in the terminal conector)....
I've been pulling up video after video online on how to do this, but given there are so many different types, I'm having a bit of a problem. Where do I slide my paperclip/super thin screwdriver to unlock the wire? On the top, bottom, or both at the same time?

Please help. I don't know why I can't slide the damn thing in. Pics for clicks!

(This is what the stereo looks like, except this isn't my car or my pic)

Shove it in.

I had the same problem sliding a pioneer stereo into mine. The cage was brand new. I was sitting at Car Toys at the time and I ask one of the guys to come help me. He just shoved it in real hard after making sure the wires weren't in the way.

I have installed a Conti TR7412UB-OR in my CLK55 AMG and trying to access the system settings. The manual says to hold the DISP button and press the >>> button to cycle through the settings, all I am getting is radio and clock. Am I missing something? Other than that the radio and BT work great.

What are you tying to access exactly? I found that many settings that's available on this unit isn't available depending where the unit is sold. For example, I was trying to find the setting to turn the brightness down, but I couldn't find it - EVEN THOUGH I found a user guide for the EXACT SAME STEREO where it showed that it's possible.

And don't bother emailing Continental to see if they can perhaps help you. They won't reply back to any message. I've tried a couple of times.

I'd like to set a few things; logic so the radio will turn on with the key, region (so I can get AM), turn on SWRC so I can program my interfaces, etc. I have sent two emails to Continental with no response too.

When you try to access the system settings does it alternate between clock and radio or do you get other choices? I bought my radio from an American vendor, ECS Tuning, maybe it would have been better to have ordered it from a european seller.

What kind of wiring harness did you have to get for r129 to get this to work? Is it compatible with BOSE fiberoptic model?

I installed it in my W208 ('02 CLK55) and the stock connectors plugged right into it.
