2000 SL600
2000 SL600 ADS PROBLEM

Suspension light came on. Suspension switch does not work. rear suspension not working. I believe the accumulators have ruptured and have filled with fluid as the car rides like a "low rider" Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Im horrified to take it to a dealer regarding possible costs etc.......

Hi!

Start by checking the rear self-levelling rod attached to the sway bar. It might have become loose and therefore the rear of the car is down (if you are very lucky)? Ruptured accumulators do not sink the car or lit ADS warning light. But you'd read the fault codes to get clues, why the light is on. Under no circumstances go to a dealer - try find a Mercedes-skilled indy instead...

Good luck!

Correct, it wouldn't ride low, but it would be very bouncy even on usually mild bumps in the road. I agree though. Check for anything worn in the suspension first yourself and then find someone to do the proper repairs after you know its not something simple or loose.
