Noise at the rear of 95 sl320 when driving
I hear this noise like screeching/scraping sound when driving. It's more intense after not driving for 1-2 weeks. I was thinking it's coming from the brake pad sensor, but not really sure because when I brake there's no noise I hear. If you drive the car daily the noise seems to disappear or makes only little noise. Does my brake pads need to be changed or is it coming from somewhere else? Please advise. Thank you.

Out Of Control!!
If the caliper does not fully release it will drag on the caliper and generate loads of heat that is absorbed by the rim. After you run around put you hand on the rim is it hotter than the rest or the rims---then yes the caliper is bad.

Rear noise when driving
Plutoe,
the noise has lessened but still hears it every now and then when driving. It's not as noisy like after not driving the car for a week or longer. Hasn't checked the caliper yet, but how do I go about to know the caliper is bad?

The only no cost method that I know of is putting the palm of your hand on the suspecting wheel rim and if it is extremely hot or hotter than the rest of the rims---the caliper is suspect of not fully retracting.
