Well this obviously isn't good but here's what happened. After my r129 was sitting idle for a few days I hopped in and drove .5 miles until the car lost power. It was similar to the feeling of a alternator giving out and you slowly lose all power. I pulled over a looked at my engine. There was a crack on the top of the valve cover. So the engine still turns over and runs for about a minute. There is no knocking or anything. Just sounds very weak then dies. I'm taking it to a shop soon to have everything opened up. Any ideas on what it could be/ what would be the next step? I'm considering changing the engine, it has 151k miles on the motor. Also the oil level was ok, I had a few ask me that.
Valve cover failure shouldn't cause a loss of power, unless you had a timing chain failure and it hit the cover? This is a strange one, curious to see what you find as they dig into it.
