SL R129 500SL Speedometer crazy
Hi everyone,
Since I bought my '94 500SL the speedometer is acting weird.
When standing still it's at 0, but when I start driving it skyrockets to max speed, even when driving 20MPH and then sometimes turns back.
It acts a bit the same as the tachometer. The odometers work (digital).
Who can help me? Suggestions?

The panel in the speedometer cluster is a complex circuit. Several businesses rebuild or repair the panel. Not being an electronic oriented collector I have used McCluster on a 1993 500SL The repaired instrument worked without the light show and hectic dial movement. The DIY and skilled electronics crowd has reported that 2 or 3 diodes replacement is all it takes. search the "stickies" if saving money is your focus.
