Mercedes SL 320 (1993)
R129 Left Rear Lock Latch problem.

Hi everybody! My name is Guillermo, Im from Spain and since about one and a half year I own a beauty 1993 SL 320. I was working on it for several months solving many problems (hydraulics, throttle body, wires, etc...) and at this time the car is almost finished but this week I had a problem with the soft top.

The soft top was operating well since about one year but last time don't want to go up. After some tries finally I decided to rise it manualy but I couldn't close the left rear lock latch, the right one was working ok but the left one was so so hard, I was tring pushing down the soft top but the latch don't wanted to close. At that time I tried to run the car and push the switch in order to left the system complete the operation but seems like the latch is trying to catch the soft top but it can't, I could see it going down but don't get locked...
Anybody have any idea about this issue?

Thank you so much

From within the soft top storage compartment you can loosen three nuts and adjust the height of the latch. Raising the latch will reduce the force required to lock the top down.

Thanks bobterry!! This afternoon I'll try to adjust the height as you said.

Solved!! Thank you so much Bobterry99! Now I feel a little stupid because when I've seen the nuts I don't understand how I didn't notice it...
