SL/R129: ESP ABS lights on

ESP ABS lights on
Recently purchased a 1996 SL500. Recently we’ve had cold weather and my esp and abs lights come on. Sometimes when I turn the car off and on again they turn off. Other times they don’t. I’ve tried the steering turning lock to lock doesn’t reset it. I’m wondering if it’s just an old battery that isn’t giving enough volts or it’s something more expensive. Wondering if any of you guys have had a similar problem and what your fix was.

I would have all diagnostic codes read by Star Diagnosis. Cost seems to vary considerably from shop to shop, so you may be wise to call around.
