How many miles on your R129?
Our 1999 SL 500 has been on quite a few wonderful road trips ... we currently have 151,560 miles on the odometer.
How about you?

Current low stat = 80,000 miles ...
Current high stat = 151,560 miles ...
Could be interesting to see if there is a garage R129 out there ... or a daily driver R129 that expands that range.
I am sure that every one is proud of their cars & would like to give a statistic.

For those of you with over 155k miles; are you aware that MB gives a high-mileage award that includes a grill badge and a certificate in a hard folder?
High mileage award / badge - the image is posed below ....
You can print out the from from MBCA. You then have to go to an MB dealer to have the service manager confirm mileage and sign the form.
Here is a link to the form: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...leageaward.pdf Fill it out and take the form and the SL to your local MB dealership.

The low mileage is going to be hard to beat ... 5,607 miles on a 1999.
See the BAT, no reserve auction going on till March 4th. Posted on this forum.
If the car cost $ 85,000 USD back in 1999 ... that was $15.16 / per original mile ... not including the investment potential of the original $ 85 K.
The real lost potential - is not having driven and enjoyed such a great car over the past 20 years. IMHO.

The low mileage is probably sown up by the Barn Find car referenced in another post ... 1991 500 SL with 1,280 miles.
What about those high mileage R129s out there?

Not high miles on the SL 600, 81,250 in 25 years
Dolly P started with about 13,200
It has been part of my car barn since 1999, 27,900 when it joined the insanity!

I'm not familiar with the Peterson car
The 55 mile 600SL was purchased by me in 12/92...…...I'm the original owner
The oil and filter are changed annually with Mobil 1 and a MB filter...……..other fluids are are also changed including the ADS and hydraulic top fluids.

Excellent history!
I love to drive all my toys, but the small or uncomfortable to drive get less of a work out. ( 56 T Bird was cool 56 Continental too but not easy to get into or park so they don't get many miles!
Peterson was a collector in California that has a range of "never street used" to rare custom show vehicles and many from the famous They sell off parts of the collection. One Caddy is on Bring a Trailer now.

My 93 300SL has 151,049 on it. It is almost a daily driver. Living on an island in Florida, the hard top isn't on to often, but when it is on, it is still a fun car to drive.

More rapidly on the Low end ... current Low Mileage Statistic = 55 miles on a 1993 SL 600
Current High Mileage Stat = 177,000 miles on a 1999 SL 500
I’m always interested in seeing more statistics posted.
No extremely high mileage SL R129 examples yet.
Low mileage is certainly well represented.
