Angry Vacuum hose. Where should it be connected?

Hello All,

Please see the attached. Upon an engine bay inspection, I found this vacuum line just sticking out next to the dipstick. I don't believe MB just throws vacuum lines in for fun or for ppl to spend countless hours figuring out what they should connect to. Vehicle is a '91 300SL-24. Any help will be appreciated!

This is the hose. What should it be connected to?

I believe it goes inside cabin filter assembly. If disconnected your ac will work but it will not allow you to switch modes

The hose connects between the fuel pressure regulator (pictured) and a source of engine vacuum. That source is the underside of the rubber tube (just inside inside the top of the oval your drew) which connects the cylinder head to the air cleaner housing.
