I had the same issue in my 95 SL. I had a cracked (not blown) fuse in the #9 spot. May not be your issue because I have bullet fuses but worth a shot to check.

Try disconnecting the battery for 15 min to let everything 'go to sleep' and retry. The car obviously has/had a 'grand-mal seizure.' Any number of intermittent 'bad connections' can cause such an event. Because so many 'failures' failed, the question is 'what was the initiating event.' You may be able to track it down using the 'freeze frame' stored in the OBD-II system. You will need a GOOD (Dealer or Good Indie Shop) to run the complete systems check.

Welcome to the era of 'dumb but very complicated' connected computer networks.
