SRS fixing

Hi everyone, has anybody actually tried to take the bottom seat appart, look/inspect the mat for a break and opening the sensor box and really fixed the problem instead of installing a new mat or the emulator or again, recoding the ECU? If it stopped working, something broke, right? Why not fix it?

@Sportedge sorry if I am not answering your question here, but I am writing as I have the same question. Also does anyone could help us here with the part number for the SRS sensors? I want to check it out the prices and options here, mine is a 96 SL 500. Thank you in advance!

You are bringing this from the dead! I ended up buying a new used sensor and it worked. Meanwhile, I bought an emulator, but never installed it. I have kept the original faulty sensor. I'll get the number for you. My car is a 1999, not sure they are the same...
Better to take your passenger seat off, remove the carpet and look at your own number. Best way to buy the matching sensor!
