Very strange ?

Hey guys maybe yous can explain this lol yesterday was driving my 90 500sl locally and the AC was blowing completely hot air I tried all different settings long story short nothing worked it was HOT .. This morning I turned the car on and let it run the AC is blowing ice cold .. so I may seem stupid here but like I said in my first post this is my first r129 and first older model Benz ... so my question is this common and if it is what’s the fix?

A single valve is the source of the paradox. The mono valve is the regulator of the balanced temp. I have replaced it when a similar process occurred.
