2000 SL500 Great day, new key and the car started up at once, but I`m doing something wrong when pairing the new key to the central locking system . Need some help

 

When I got my last key from MB to the chassis number it worked the central locking straight away. It didn't need pairing in any way

 

OK, my car is a 2001 made late 2000 dont know if it was a difference here from other years, but should like to know how to pair the new key.

 

If you have the keyfob, take it to the dealer as the safest way.

id like to know where you acquired a keyfob?

 

No problem, direct from MB dealer who ordered in Germany, around 14 days to get it.

 

Remotes that have more than one button should be fully functional without pairing or synchronizing.

Whether or not you can lock the car with the key in the driver's door lock and lock the interior with the lock-switch on the dash would suggest the first troubleshooting step.
