Right side of steering wheel sticks out farther than the left side.

I know this sounds weird.
I recently bought a 91 500sl and noticed that theright side of the steering wheel sticks out further than the left side. its very slight but I notice it when I’m driving. It doesn’t affect the drive though.f you look at the image you can see that the left side is closer to the dash than the right side.

does anyone know what could be the issue? Anyone know how to remove the steering wheel or adjust the steering column?

Nothing wrong. This is how the car was built.

This place is a joke.
Every modern Mercedes is the same. The wheel is offset for safety. In an accident this will deflect the wheel and steering column sideways instead of directly into your chest.

Even entry and out to the car comes easy with this little angle

Ok good, I'm not the only one. My SL600 has this same 'issue'. I only notice it when I'm holding the wheel 'proper'. When I'm cruising, I don't noticed it at all.
