Are you taking the car to a MB independent shop or MB dealership?
Both of these kinds of places specialize in MB repair and not just general car repair. If you are getting service from a repair shop that ALSO does MB service, that might not be good enough.
Both types of shops should easily be able to track down the source of your persistent problem, ESPECIALLY if it involves a CEL In addition to the code, MB repair manuals also provide a diagnostic flow chart to get to the root of an issue. This should be an easier ordeal for you.

Perhaps there was some confusion between a camshaft position sensor (both at the front of the engine, passenger side) and the crankshaft position sensor (both at the rear of the engine). In either case, change the sensors in pairs.

Of all three of those sensors, the cam sensors are by far the easiest to replace. Pity.
The crankshaft sensor on the passenger side at the rear of the engine can be changed from above (I changed mine out without too much trouble).
It is easier to see and change the sensor if you remove the upper part of the false firewall first. Maybe that is the one that is bad. The second sensor on the driver side is much tougher to see and change as it is mostly sight unseen and gets replaced by touch from below. Do a Google search on V12 SL600 crankshaft position sensor change BenzWorld for a little more guidance. According to the law of evil, the driver's side sensor will be the one that is actually bad. It was in my case.
Both temp sensors (once again, 2 ECUs and each computer gets it's own sensor) are at the front of the engine under the front covers.
They are the brass sensors that screw into the water pump. The wiring harness snap fittings that plug into the sensors are usually brittle with age by now so you should get those as well. The hardest part about changing the sensor connectors is disengaging the wire ends, but it will be easy if the connectors are brittle, you just finish crunching them with pliers and harvest the fittings. Just remember to write down which wire goes where (positions 1-4) when you transfer over to the new connectors.
Let us know how it goes.
