A/C Service Valve (1995 SL 500)

My A/C Service Valve Is leaking air and UV dye from the servicing port. Im assuming the valve is just bad. How would I go about replacing it myself? Im assuming I will have to bleed off the residual pressure but what is the exact part number? And is it as simple as take off old and put on new?
I would appreciate any help, Thanks.

Did you try tightening it?

it looks like it's leaking from inside the valve. Like maybe a bad valve core.

Most likely a bad core.

A lot of134a valves leak there not as well made as the r12 valves. that's what the cap is for, make sure the cap has an oring in it . Then check for leaks.

That's true as the 134a gas has a smaller molecule than the R12.

I struggled to find leak in my 1993 car; it kept refrigerant abt 18 months. After two refills I finally suspected the service valve. A new valve is not expensive but to install it, I'm afraid you need to empty the system. However, after latest refill I put an o-ring under the service valve plastic cap and A/C has been ok for more than two years now. The R134a pressure should be too far too high for an o-ring, so maybe dirt causing leak got out from the valve in latest refill? Nevertheless my new replacement valve (A 001 830 28 84) is still waiting for the next A/C service.
