Blue smoke on Start
Not all the time ... but occasionally I notice a heavy cloud of blue smoke on start up.
This is usually when the car has been sitting for a while.
Not related ... but is usually noticed when I am backing out of the garage to wash ... or reposition to move stuff in the garage.
On our day trips and long road trips - I don’t notice it.
Is it my “perception” when start and stop in a few seconds?
Or is it normal ...
Why would it vary from time to time?

Could it be one cylinder scored / rings bad ... and oil gets into the combustion chamber 1/8 x % scored?
making it a rare occurrence on start up?
I often do need to top up oil between changes. Same effect? A slow burn of oil from part of one cylinder?

When I had this issue I switched from 0w40 to 5w40 which is what the dealer uses. It only reduced the smoke. Still gotta top up a bit sometimes. I’m going to try liqui moly oil saver since it supposedly works well with German cars for dealing with smoke and MINOR oil drips

I agree with Bobterry99 Valve ( shims ) guides. I have faced that aging process for 60 years with Benz ownership and repairs.
