Engine Wiring Harness Question

So about a year ago I changed my engine on my 1995 Sl 500. Long story short I never changed the wiring harness. I was able to find one in excellent condition and ordered it. It idles pretty rough and the engine light and oil light stay on after resetting the battery. My question is will me replacing the wiring harness fix the low oil light? Or is it a separate wiring I need to focus on? I previously took it to a shop and they temporarily fixed it but eventually the light came back on. I understand the harness has a big reputation of deteriorating. Is there anything I should do to the new harness before I install it? Any recommendations would be helpful.
Thanks 👍

Cant say if replacing the harness will fix the oil level issue but it is part of the harness. Use a wiring diagram and test the circuit.

You may need to replace the oil level sensor, or the wire connector.
