Introduction - R129 new owner

Hello! I have been researching this for awhile and just purchased a 1992 SL500. I am really excited to buy the car I always wanted as a kid! The car runs and drives really well, but I have a list of about a dozen "small issues" that I figure I can touch up and fix as I go. So, I registered on this site and will be searching (and posting questions) on how to fix some of this stuff in the near future. In the meantime, here's my new (to me) car!

It has just over 110k. Engine and transmission seem strong, no issues. I'm thinking I'll bring it to my mechanic for a tune up this weekend. Anything I should ask him to pay extra special attention to?

I am no expert - but I have read that the drive train on the R129 is “bull it proof”.
I MB dealer told me 10 years ago I needed new motor mounts ... I said no & have put many road trip miles on since then.
Still thinking I should do it not to damage the car.

there are not 'tune-ups' required for the car. There ARE service items to be performed periodically. IF they have been neglected, be prepared for $1000 + for routine replacement of fluids, filters and worn parts. A good independent will save you 50% or so on these routine items like belts, hoses, fluids.
