Stock radio unit with the trunk mounted AMP - the antenna goes up and down - the antenna is plugged into AMP/Booster unit in the trunk - radio gets ZERO reception - I get volume but only static - like it doesn't have an antenna hooked up..
Fuses are good in both units ( the 5 amp ones ). What should I look at - trunk mounted unit or the head unit in the dash - since I'm getting static volume - thinking the AMP part is OK -
Doing some more reading - it could be the trunk mounted unit - it's the radio tuner as the dash unit is just the head -
I found a part number on it 001 820 92 89 - I'd hate to buy something ship it to find out it isn't the issue - the used untis on Ebay etc seem to pricey - does anyone have one that was removed to install a 21 century DIN unit in the dash that they woudl be willing to part with for a reasonible price ?
Still looking for someone who might have tuner/amp unit sitting in a box somewhere - I did post an ad in the classified section - not much on R129 stuff other than rims and roof's - this is the bit I'm looking for .. drivers side rear behind the trim - the ant plugs into it..
