Collectors Insurance?

I'm about to get my beloved 98 SL500 back from the panel shop after a relatively minor encounter with some truck tire debris. Essentially a new front bumper and some related trim and we are good to go. However USAA have tossed me as a customer because parts are too expensive. So I want to get on with a collectors insurance company. The only 3 I have found so far are Grundys, Hagerty and American Collectors, can anyone enlighten me on how to deal with this type of insurance please? Things to look out for, things to avoid, that sort of stuff.

I figure that the car is worth about $20K to me and I drive it a couple thousand miles a year. Recommendations for other insurance companies would be welcome too. Thanks in advance.

I'm with Hagerty's, but they best describe their coverage.

Just visit their website or call them and pick out the information that seems to suit you best or not.

OK folks, here is the latest.

Grundy - cheap, about half price, but they only cover you for very specific uses, so if you drive to the hardware store you are not covered. In other words, they can disallow you cover for any reason. Quoted around $325 from memory. Pass.

I just filed for and got hard quotes from AMC and Hagerty (ie with VIN and all details rather than just the estimates.)
Each quote was for an agreed value of $20,000.

American Collectors (AMC): part of USAA but have agreed value. Just got a quote of $526 for 2,500 miles a year.

Hagerty: the standard it would seem, similar conditions to AMC but quoted $806.

In the absence of any reasons to the contrary I guess it will be AMC.
