Sushi. Good point. I'm not doing it because i need to. I'm just doing it because I can.

Heim joint rear suspension. Because I can.

RENNtech carbon fiber intake boxes. Because I can.

Red crinkle powder coated valve covers and silver powder coated intake manifold. Because the old stuff was flaking and looked bad.

Stainless steel resonator eliminator and AMG muffler. Because they are awesome!

99+ bigger Silver Arrow front brakes on my 97. Because they stop the car better.

The V12 oil cooler. Because it came that way. Oil coolers were part of the original V8 SL cars with their own part numbers.

If I can add most of these things to my car, surely the OP can add what ever he wants to his.

Mahunt. Yep that's what it's all about. Got a set of lowering springs coming next month. Don't need it lower, but it's cool.

Not too low.

SL600 cars and cars with ADS allow you to set your car height to whatever you want, but if you have the 18 inch AMG rims you have to be careful.

And there is a problem with ramp angles and parking lot tire stops. If I'm going down a ramp or if my wife is driving the car, I click the ADS rocker up one to raise the body.

You probably don't have ADS so you have to get your new spring height correct for all conditions. Definitely read up on spring change before you begin.

Front bumper covers are expensive to repair or replace.

These springs are suppose to lower it one inch front and back. I hear what you are saying about the bumper covers. Mine are like new and I really don't want to damage them. I'm going to make that decision once i get the springs. I've had a few vettes and an XLR and bumping concrete stops was a problem but they had the rubber spoiler under the bumper.

The cooler was broken, right? Or does the US V12 have no oil cooler, too?

I wonder what year they quit putting them on the US V8s.

Andreas,

My oil cooler is fine and I believe all SL600 cars came with the cooler.

I didn't have a photo of my cooler, so the picture I posted was from the Internet.
