I have a1991 sl and the spare tire which is 225/16 won’t fit in the trunk. Does the car come with a smaller spare. This tire just won’t fit I tried for 2 hours and no luck, also where does the Jack and tool bag go,thanks again

 

The jack fits in a slot to the right of the spare, but the jack has to be "mostly" wound down to insert.

Do you have the car manual?

 

yes i have the manual, but it seems the tire wont fit in the space. the top of the spare wont close properly

 

Is your spare an original rim or something aftermarket or possibly from another MB model?

Is the tire a 255 55 ZR 16?

If you have the original rims, the original tire size information for your car is on the driver's door jamb below the door striker plate.
