SL/R129: Battery tender plus

Battery tender plus
I have a 1991 sl with a new battery,I hooked up a new battery tender plus and the battery tender stays on red. I have had it plugged in for 2 nights, I removed the bulb in the trunk because I didnt know if was staying on, please help. I tried another new battery tender and the same thing

does your battery tender turn green or does it stay red. my other cars always the green light came on after a day or so but not this one. i have tried 2 different battery tenders and the red light just stays on. it is a new battery that was just installed

I guess I could hook mine up for a few days and see what happens.
If you are worried about the battery not holding a charge; remove the negative cable and attach the tender to the disconnected battery to see if it charges.
You will have to resync the car afterwards though. Everybody should know how to resync their car and apply the radio code.
If you left the trunk open to tend the battery, yes the trunk light was on unless you slid the yellow trunk light switch over to shut it off or just shut the lid.
