Was it a factory added side-mount, or perhaps Dealer added?

Hello! '97 SL 320 *Cell phone side mount REMOVAL??? HELP!!!
I want to remove my side mounted cell phone, but I am not sure if "holes" will be left behind, and need to be filled in. Also, Is there a possibility of messing up any electrical issues? I have briefly looked at it, thinking of removing it, and it is incredibly well-fitted, and the color match to the rest of the interior materials inside ARE 100% PERFECT! As far as I am ware, MB only offered a cell phone in the console above the center 2 vents. Many have said to leave it inside as a "period correct" accessory, but, I'm not sure. PLEASE HELP, AND ANY COMMENTS ARE WELCOME, thank you!! I wish to remove the side-mounted cell phone, without damaging electrics and leaving holes, etc. (Original facotry phone?, I think not, but... HELP! ;-)

I removed the factory cell phone from my 97 SL600 (console cradle and glovebox keypad) and there was no issues with any of the other systems. The support wiring was left in place (just dropped).
