SL/R129: 98 SL 500- front speakers don't work

98 SL 500- front speakers don't work
Hi y'all,
New to the forum, hoping someone can help. Neither the left or right front speakers on my SL500 are working. I have tested, at the multi-connector plug going to the amp, both the L&R signal inputs coming from the radio and the front speakers themselves. I can hear (with headphones) the signal from the radio and send (with a small test amp) a signal to the speakers. I figured the only thing left was the amp itself, but I have tried 3 different amp units now (the one under the floor flap behind the drivers seat) and the front speakers don't work with any of them. I'm at a loss- any suggestions?
